Intensification of Life
Introspection during our enforced shutdown was an intensification of what is my normal process. My life’s work with female empowerment is a result of many years of examining my own inner themes. And my most profound inner theme remains a never-ending quest for more freedom! I felt that actually having “permission” this past year to spend more time in the quiet of my own inner sanctum was a rare gift.
I am a self-employed coach and author so my work routine was only slightly altered. Professionally, I discovered that coaching women online instead of in my practice room, I could open up my work to a much larger international clientele. I discovered that women everywhere want to grow and expand their sexual and emotional potential.
I don’t identify with an external idea of freedom. I know that many people felt “unfree” but that’s just a concept and it doesn’t suit me. It is true that in 2019 I could stop any time for a coffee in my favorite café. In 2020 I could not. All things change. This too has changed and I embrace the return of a more open public space.
I have travelled professionally and privately all my life. Now I’m happy to stay home. The thought of waiting for hours at the airport only to then be jammed into a too small seat in a stuffy airplane with hundreds of other folks. No thanks. I adore sitting comfortably in the peace of my garden with a good book. No more spontaneous trips for me.
I hope that this past year will have a profound effect on our society. Hopefully we will realise that, no matter the circumstances, we are always free to embrace and celebrate the life we are given. This is a profound freedom – the freedom to choose happiness. We passed through a challenging year of change. Let’s focus on what is new and wanting to be born.
