A beautiful and smart young woman, obsessed with: cars. We discussed where our mutual interest in cars might come from and we realised a pattern: we both have brothers. And because we both loved our brothers, we followed their passion about cars. Alexis and Ladies Drive took a ride in a brand new 911. Ladies Drive was on the road with a 911 Carrera and Alexis with a 911 Turbo 50 Jahre and we both have a story to tell.

People often ask me where my love for cars began. Honestly? It was long before I had a license or even knew what torque or rear-wheel drive meant. It started with my older brother, Don.
Don was a complete car lover – obsessed in the best way. I grew up watching him live out his passion for anything with an engine. He’d talk about cars like they were alive. Always onto his next wild adventure. When he passed away at just 21, it changed everything. Cars became my connection to him. They reminded me of his energy – fast, fearless, full of life.
After school, I dove straight into the world of medicine. I wanted to make a difference, and in many ways, I think I was still searching for meaning after losing Don. That led me to the Netherlands, where I started my studies. And that’s when things began to shift. Moving from the warmth and friendliness of South Africa to the grey skies and unfamiliar rhythm of Europe wasn’t easy. In fact, it was really hard. I was alone in a new country, trying to figure out who I was – beyond textbooks, beyond grief, beyond what I thought I had to be. That period forced me to grow in ways I never expected.
From medicine to motors and more
Eventually, I left medicine behind. I found myself working in the boating industry, almost by accident. But it turned out to be one of those happy accidents that change your life. For the first time, I was in a space where I could build something. I started meeting people who were launching their own businesses, finding their freedom, designing their own lives. It inspired me – and something inside me said, “You were made for this”. That’s when @carswithalexis was born. I’ll admit, I was scared at first. Sharing my love for cars felt … vulnerable. I wasn’t sure at first if I should share this side of myself. A love for fast cars, beautiful design, performance – it can all seem material. But for me, it’s always been about something deeper. Cars challenge me. They represent freedom & ambition. They motivate me to pursue more – creatively and personally. The moment I started posting, it just felt right. It flowed so naturally. And it still does. On top of that, I started Alexis Wines – a passion project that connects me to my roots in South Africa and my love for exceptional wine.

The Porsche Chapter
If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you already know: I’m completely obsessed with Porsche. But what really makes Porsche stand out for me and for Ladies Drive isn’t just the cars – it’s the people behind the brand. They’re the kind of people who make you feel seen, who treat collaboration with care and creativity. That matters.
And Porsche as a brand? It’s pure storytelling. They don’t just sell performance – they sell feeling. Emotion. Legacy. Through decades of innovation and design, they’ve built one of the most loyal and passionate communities in the world. The people who love Porsche are dreamers, perfectionists, creators – and it shows.

911 Turbo 50 Jahre: built for the past and the present
One car that really left its mark on me is the 911 Turbo 50 Jahre edition – a tribute to 50 years of Turbo, and one of the most beautifully balanced cars I’ve ever driven. It’s the kind of car that stops people in their tracks. I took it through different parts of Switzerland, and everywhere I went, people came up to ask about it. But what I loved most was that it never felt flashy. It felt timeless.
Compared to the GT2 RS the 50 Jahre Turbo edition is calm, composed, and filled with soul. It’s one of those cars that feels like it was built for every kind of road – and for people who appreciate the past as much as the future.
That said, if I had to choose one Porsche I’d buy again and again? The 992 Carrera 4S. For me, it’s the ultimate all-rounder. Sexy, powerful, grounded. A true daily driver that never feels ordinary. It’s elegant when it needs to be, but wild when you want it to be. I genuinely think it’s one of the best value-for-money Porsche models out there – at least coming from my positive experiences.
@carswithalexis is my love letter to adventure. To Don. To the version of me that believed in something bigger. And to everyone else out there chasing their own wild, beautiful dream. If you’re into cars, connection, and creating something with soul – welcome. You’re already part of the story.

From media to motors and more
I was well known in the neighbourhood for being a chatty girl. That’s also how I got my first paid job as a sports reporter for a German private radio station in 1988 – I was not even 16 when I hosted my first radio show at Hochrhein Antenne 3. From this moment on, using my voice, asking questions, being curious, my true and deep interest in other beings never left me to this day.
As I grew up in a little village, having my driver’s license was the door to freedom and independence. Today I look at every car as a piece of art, something that had years of development and investment, where talented men and women crafted it together in their joint effort to create something to remember. Like a 911 Porsche Carrera.
911 Carrera (MY 2025 – code name Porsche 992.2)
This model is a tribute to freedom, to this spectacular feeling of being independent but still connected with everything and everyone. Acceleration combined with perfect steering that you can feel in your fingertips will let you fly high.
A 911 might be one of these iconic car models that will always have a place in our hearts. Not as a reminiscence. More as a piece of art or an investment. Because this car will always remind you of the beauty that humankind can champion and create besides all other stuff a homo sapiens can do with its sheer existence.
What connects us all? – Love. Passion. The air that we breathe. The roads that connect this planet like deeply veined leaves. It doesn’t matter what vehicle we use to see our loved ones down the road – but a 992.2 will be the only 911 you will ever need.
