Scarlett Poppies

Swedish-born Linda Augustsson launched Scarlett Poppies in 2019. Her love for design and sewing began at a young age and she was destined to have a career in fashion. Over the past two decades she has lived part time in India, immersing herself in the textile industry while exploring the world and drawing inspiration from architecture, travel, and diverse cultures.
In 2002 Linda founded one of India’s leading design and buying agencies, forging strong partnerships between global retailers and local suppliers. Her own label, Scarlett Poppies, blends Scandinavian femininity with simplistic silhouettes and traditional Indian embroidery techniques on natural fabrics.

I discovered Scarlett Poppies for the first time last year in the shop New Collection in Kilchberg, Zurich (just opposite the Lindt chocolate factory), www.newcollection.ch. I see that they have some new Scarlett Poppies pieces this summer too – I fall in love with them every time! The beautiful, good quality fabrics make each piece come to life and the wearer feel extra special.
Susanne Meyer

Born and raised in Zurich, Susanne Meyer started her career in photography, opening her own photo atelier and lab in 1990. Later she trained as a fashion assistant and then in fashion design at the Schweizerische Textilfachschule in Zurich.
Susanne has a great passion for timeless designs and clean lines. It was my honour to meet her in person a few months ago and try on many of her pieces at one of her atelier open days. Many designs are made one size fits all and we had great fun seeing how pieces looked on different people.

It was like the clothing adapted itself to the person wearing it. I think you need to be particularly talented to be able to design clothing in such a way that it fits many sizes yet still shows some shape. She is also well known for her beautiful and timeless knitwear.
I can thoroughly recommend visiting Susanne in her atelier in Zurich close to Tiefenbrunnen.
Atelier 1985

Atelier 1985 was founded by Lea Dätwyler in the middle of the Corona crisis in 2020 with the aim of creating timeless, luxurious and non-seasonal fashion. The concept is for a client to buy an outfit and then over the years get additional pieces, all of which can be worn together in different ways.
The designs are made to suit every woman and every shape. New interest is awakened in the collections via new colours, fabrics and designs and limited-edition seasonal capsule collections.

The new Atelier 1985 Summer 2025 collection also features a beautiful t-shirt collection created in collaboration with her mother who recently began painting.

Lea found her pictures so beautiful, they simply had to be integrated into her collection somehow and the t-shirts were the perfect solution.
In addition to having her own design label, Lea Dätwyler also runs the Kaufhaus Krone in Olten, Switzerland, which she founded together with her mother Susanne Grob in 2009.
Nathalie Schweizer

Nathalie Schweizer grew up in a creative family. Sewing, knitting, and simply creating things was a part of her daily routine, leading her to learn fashion design.
After 10 years of work as a fashion designer for her own label she decided it was time for a new challenge.
Hence, she began designing swimwear. The initial reaction from others was a strong indication that she had truly found her niche and her swimwear brand has been growing from strength to strength ever since.
Nathalie is often her own model, testing out new designs and then modifying them many times before they become a part of her collection. This reminds me of me trying a new recipe – haha!

I was fortunate enough to test Nathalie’s swimwear for myself on a recent trip to Vietnam and have fallen in love with her designs. For a start they simply fit nicely.

Secondly, they dry in minutes which is such a fabulous thing when you’re travelling. I also fell in love with the matching shirt/dress.
It enabled me to walk around our resort and beyond all day in my bathing suit yet still feel dressed. See more on www.nathalieschweizer.ch or visit her store Weststrasse 182, 8003 Zurich.
