Day three of the World Economic Forum in Davos has wrapped up – and the shift in tone continued. With power politics clearly here to stay and European companies expected to play a key role in strengthening Europe, discussions centered on execution: leveraging our strengths, prioritizing speed over perfection, delivering quick wins to build momentum, and communicating with confidence. Notably, these are the same principles we apply in restructuring situations—increasing my confidence that we are moving in the right direction and at the right pace.
On AI, opinions remain divided. Some organizations are already seeing bottom-line impact, while others are still running pilots without meaningful scale or results. That said, there is broad agreement that AI is here to stay and that impact will follow—sooner or later. Importantly, executives agreed that AI success requires more than technology alone. It demands process changes, workforce upskilling, and strong change management – very much aligned with our perspective at AlixPartners.
